Jammu. There was good growth in vehicle sales in the state during September. With demand for two-wheelers and cars increasing, three-wheelers, commercial vehicles and tractors also sold more than last year. Overall, vehicle sales in September increased by 47 percent compared to a year ago. There was definitely a slight decrease compared to August, but in view of the beginning of Navratri, Dussehra, Dhanteras, Diwali and wedding season, dealers expect the market to increase further in the coming months.

The highest demand in September was for two-wheelers and cars. Two-wheeler sales increased by nearly 50 percent to 11,938 and car sales increased by nearly 34 percent to 6,067. There was also a good increase in demand for three wheelers and commercial vehicles. Sales of tractors also remained above last year. Total sales in September were 2.5 percent less than in August.

Sanjay Aggarwal, Chairperson of Federation of Automobile Dealers Association (FADA) Jammu and Kashmir said that the September sales show a better buying trend of customers in the market. Now the wedding season is also starting with Navratri, Dussehra, Dhanteras and Diwali.

In such a situation, the demand for cars and two-wheelers is especially expected to increase. Aggarwal said that dealers are preparing in view of the increasing inquiries and customer movement. Offers from companies and dealers, financial facilities for purchase and new models can also attract customers to buy a vehicle.
