Hello Wolfpack families!
Being about halfway through the fall semester, now seems like a great time for a reminder about the great services at Campus Health! Campus Health’s mission is to provide appropriate, accessible and high-quality primary health care to eligible students and provide a comprehensive disease-prevention and health education program in the NC State University community. This is achieved with strong clinical care, strategic outreach and an amazing team dedicated to supporting the well-being of the Wolfpack. Below are a few larger initiatives to share with your students!
Flu Vaccinations
Currently, NC State Campus Health is offering flu vaccinations to help protect the campus community against the flu. Getting your flu vaccine is the most effective way to protect yourself and those around you from the flu. Encourage your students to get their vaccination at the Campus Health Pharmacy or by visiting one of our walk-in clinics around campus each Monday in October and November. More information can also be found in this article.
Clinical Services
With numerous comprehensive services ranging from Primary Care to Physical Therapy to Gynecology to Travel Clinic, Campus Health is your students home for health and wellness. Students are able to talk about anything food-related with our dietitians in Nutrition Counseling (and receive two free visits per academic year)! Appointments are made on the HealthyPack Portal or by calling 919-515-2563. The Pharmacy also offers a wide range of over-the-counter medications and is in-network with many insurance plans for students who wish to pick up their prescriptions from a convenient, cost-effective location. Fun (and educational!) Health Promotion Outreach
In addition to clinical services, Campus Health also has a Community Health unit that focuses on programming, educational presentations and outreach that promotes health-enhancing behaviors for your students. These programs often highlight specific wellness topics including but not limited to sexual health, mental health, nutrition, general wellness, healthy sleep, healthy habits and others. One fun upcoming event is Wellness Fest during Red and White Week that promotes holistic well-being, involvement from many campus partners, free food, giveaways, therapy dogs and more! This event takes place on Tuesday, October 27, from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Harris Field.
Encourage your students to stop by an event, learn more about our services on our website, or check out our instagram page @ncsuhealthypack to learn more about Campus Health. Our team cares for our campus and works hard to support their health and well-being. Campus Health is here for your students to keep them well so they may succeed while they are at NC State!
