OAKLAND – A 29-year-old woman was in grave condition after she was shot in downtown Sunday morning, authorities said.
The shooting occurred around 1:35 a.m. Sunday on the 200 block of 14th Street.
According to initial police reports, the woman got into a confrontation with others on the sidewalk, and someone shot her. She was then taken by ambulance to a hospital where she is in grave condition.
Police have not yet said the subject of the confrontation. The woman was not from Oakland, but police have not released where she was from or why she was in Oakland.
Some people were detained for questioning, but no arrests have been announced.
