Political pressure may be behind Michigan Republican Senate candidate Mike Rogers’ sudden reversal on Donald Trump’s trade war with Canada, according to one political expert.
In a new campaign advertisement Rogers calls for an immediate end to the tariff war he previously supported, declaring that Canada is “not our enemy.”
University of Michigan political science professor Frederic Pearson believes the change reflects Roger’s standing in the polls and questions the sincerity of the message.
