BENTONVILLE — A Missouri man was placed on 10 years probation after pleading guilty to a sex crime involving a child.

Scott Minor, 46, of Jefferson City pleaded guilty Thursday to electronic facilitation of child sexual abuse. His plea was under an agreement Seth Irwin, Minor’s attorney reached with Jackson Hannah.

Minor was booked March 6 into the Benton County Jail after being sentenced to seven years in prison after pleading guilty to child endangerment charges involving a Pea Ridge child.

He was arrested in August 2025 in Missouri after a joint investigation involving the Pea Ridge Police Department and the Cole County Sheriff’s Office in Missouri, according to court documents.

Pea Ridge police received a report in June 2025 concerning Minor’s communicating with the girl, according to a probable cause affidavit.

Police obtained a warrant for the girl’s cellphone and laptop and extracted data from the devices. Numerous messages were found between Minor and the girl in which Minor told the girl he loved her and they were soulmates, the affidavit states.

Pea Ridge police reported data from Minor’s phone and computer included texts, voice messages, electronic images, movies and other media shared over several months between Minor and the girl. Police said they found sexually explicit messages Minor sent the girl.

Minor also sent the girl messages about deleting their messages, police reported.

According to the affidavit, Minor wrote, “Yeah, I’d be ok with you deleting ALL them, lol. I like NOT being in prison!

“No baby-girl, just maybe the incriminating ones.”

Pea Ridge police sent a copy of the data to the Cole County Sheriff’s Office. In an interview with Missouri authorities, Minor acknowledged he knew the girl’s age, according to the affidavit.

Benton County Circuit Judge Robin Green accepted the plea agreement and Minor’s guilty plea.

Minor was placed on 10 years state supervised probation. He was sentenced to 120 days in jail, but given credit for the 216 days he spent in custody awaiting a trial.

The judge ordered Minor not to have any contact with the girl and prohibited him from having any unsupervised contact with any minors.

Minor must register as a sex offender and he must complete a sex offender rehabilitation program.
