Industry organisation France Hydrogene has welcomed the inclusion in France’s draft budget for 2027 of three measures for the sector, including the introduction of a double-sided auction mechanism to support the development of synthetic aviation fuels (eSAF).
The draft budget, presented on Thursday, also includes the entry into force of IRICC (Incentive for the Reduction of Carbon Intensity of Fuels), which is expected to stimulate demand for renewable and low-carbon hydrogen in refining, maritime fuels and road transport.
France Hydrogene estimates IRICC could trigger nearly EUR 2 billion in private investment in hydrogen projects in these sectors.
