Akron (6-5-2) is coming off a 1-1 tie against UMass. Sara Bower played a magnificent match in goal, as she recorded 13 saves — three away from tying her own program record (since 2015) set in 2024 at Western Michigan. Offensively, the Zips are led by Rachel Wenzel who has scored five goals this season.
CMU is led by Ella Betzold, who has notched four goals this season. Additionally, Jadia Kershaw has played all 1,170 minutes in net with 61 saves and a shutout which occurred in a 0-0 tie against Miami on October 4. The Chippewas are coming off a 1-1 tie at Toledo and are searching for their first victory since a 6-1 drubbing of Purdue Fort Wayne on August 27.
This is the 26th all-time meeting between the teams, and Central Michigan holds a 17-3-5 advantage in the series. However, the Zips did win, 4-3, last season as Jordanne Oberhaus notched the game-winner in the 84th minute.
