October 10, 2026 – On the World Day Against the Death Penalty, supporters of the Iranian Resistance and human rights advocates took part in a 3.5-kilometer run at Parc Montsouris in Paris to condemn executions in Iran

Supporters of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) and the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) continued their international campaign against executions and clerical rule during October 11–17, 2026, with rallies, exhibitions, prolonged protests and political initiatives across Europe and North America. Newly received reports also provided detailed accounts of coordinated anti-execution activities held in more than 20 cities across Europe, Australia and North America on World Day Against the Death Penalty. The demonstrations emphasized solidarity with political prisoners, accountability for human rights violations and support for a democratic republic rejecting both clerical and monarchical dictatorship.

October 17, 2026

In Malmö, Sweden, Iranian Resistance supporters held a rally endorsing the NCRI as a democratic alternative to the ruling theocracy. Ahead of the anniversary of Maryam Rajavi‘s selection as NCRI president-elect, participants expressed support for her Ten-Point Plan, the Resistance Units inside Iran and the establishment of a democratic republic. They condemned executions and demanded the unconditional release of political prisoners.

In Bucharest, Romania, NCRI supporters organized a photo exhibition highlighting executions and the plight of political prisoners, including protesters arrested during the January 2026 uprising. The exhibition called for urgent international intervention to prevent further executions, the release of political detainees and accountability for officials responsible for crimes against humanity. Romanian visitors expressed solidarity with the Iranian people’s struggle for democratic change.

In Heidelberg, Germany, supporters organized a book stand and photo exhibition condemning the regime’s use of capital punishment. Participants appealed for immediate measures to protect condemned prisoners and called for the prosecution of officials implicated in systematic human rights violations.

Separately, 306 Iranian associations and communities across Europe, North America and Australia, including 70 organizations based in Germany, challenged the Friedrich Naumann Foundation over plans to honor Reza Pahlavi in Frankfurt. In a letter dated October 16 and publicized the following day, the signatories rejected attempts to rehabilitate the former monarchy and reaffirmed their commitment to a democratic alternative independent of both the Shah and the clerical establishment.

October 16, 2026

In Paris, Iranian Resistance supporters organized a photo exhibition commemorating victims of the 1988 massacre of political prisoners and those killed or executed during subsequent nationwide uprisings, including the protests of 2026. Photographs displayed in a public space highlighted the continuing use of executions against political opponents. Organizers urged the French public and international community to demand accountability and support an Iran free from capital punishment and dictatorship.

October 14, 2026

In Berlin, German lawmakers, former parliamentarians, diplomats and Iranian Resistance representatives attended a conference examining Iran’s political crisis and the need for a new European policy.

NCRI President-elect Maryam Rajavi sent a video message to the conference, urging recognition of organized resistance, accountability for crimes against humanity and stronger action against Tehran’s intelligence networks in Europe. Participants discussed the NCRI’s Ten-Point Plan, emphasizing free elections, separation of religion and state, and rejection of both foreign military intervention and monarchical restoration.

In Paris, NCRI supporters held a separate book table and photo exhibition documenting executions, political imprisonment and repression during nationwide uprisings. The organizers called for measures to protect political prisoners and support a secular democratic republic.

October 13, 2026

In Gothenburg, Sweden, NCRI supporters rallied in solidarity with the 142nd week of the “No to Execution Tuesdays” campaign, which organizers said involved prisoners in 66 Iranian prisons. Demonstrators condemned death sentences against political prisoners, demanded their release and expressed support for the Resistance Units inside Iran.

In Berlin, supporters maintained their sit-in outside the Iranian embassy for the 228th consecutive day, calling for its closure and an end to executions. Participants welcomed United Nations Special Rapporteur Gina Romero’s participation in a 24-hour hunger strike in solidarity with Iranian prisoners. Iranian women taking part in the prolonged demonstration praised the initiative and renewed demands for international action against Tehran’s repression.

October 10, 2026 — Additional Reports Received During the Week

Further individual reports of activities marking World Day Against the Death Penalty were received and published during October 11–17. Although the international campaign was cited generally in the previous weekly report, these newly documented accounts provided additional details of the coordinated events.

In Paris, supporters participated in a 3.5-kilometer anti-execution run at Parc Montsouris, wearing vests calling for an end to executions. In Cologne, Germany, participants completed a five-kilometer symbolic run, while in Amsterdam, Netherlands, NCRI supporters organized a similar five-kilometer event demanding abolition of the death penalty and freedom for political prisoners.

In Stockholm, Sweden, supporters completed a five-kilometer walk and run opposite the Swedish Parliament despite heavy rain. Participants expressed solidarity with condemned prisoners and endorsed Maryam Rajavi’s Ten-Point Plan. In Oslo, Norway, Iranian Resistance supporters participated in the Oslo Marathon wearing anti-execution messages and demanding accountability for officials implicated in crimes against humanity.

The coordinated endurance campaign also extended to London, Rome, Sydney and Luxembourg, completing nine reported locations. These events used symbolic runs to draw international attention to executions and the Iranian people’s struggle for freedom.

In Vancouver, Canada, PMOI supporters held a rally and photo exhibition honoring victims of executions and demanding democratic change. Participants rejected both war and appeasement, insisting that political change must be achieved by the Iranian people themselves, and urged stronger action by the Canadian government.

In Copenhagen, Denmark, Iranian Resistance supporters displayed photographs of political prisoners and execution victims during a rally demanding an immediate halt to capital punishment. Demonstrators expressed support for the NCRI and rejected both clerical and monarchical dictatorship.

In Malmö, Sweden, a separate October 10 rally and photo exhibition condemned executions and urged the Swedish government to close the Iranian embassy, which organizers accused of serving as a center for intelligence operations against dissidents.

In Washington, D.C., supporters of the NCRI and the Organization of Iranian American Communities gathered at the Lincoln Memorial, demanding an end to executions, freedom for political prisoners and accountability for officials responsible for repression.

Additional solidarity activities were documented in Gothenburg, Vienna, Aarhus, Dallas and Los Angeles, alongside gatherings in Atlanta, San Francisco, Houston and Berlin. These actions formed part of the wider international campaign, combining public demonstrations, commemorations and appeals for international action.

Across these cities, participants linked opposition to executions with support for the “No to Execution Tuesdays” campaign inside Iran and the demand for a democratic republic based on popular sovereignty, gender equality, freedom of expression and abolition of capital punishment.

The week’s activities demonstrated the Iranian Resistance’s ability to sustain international mobilization beyond a single commemorative event. From parliamentary engagement in Germany to public exhibitions, endurance runs and solidarity rallies across several continents, supporters connected the defense of political prisoners with demands for democratic change. The continuing campaign underscores the limits of Tehran’s reliance on executions and intimidation: repression has not silenced organized opposition, while international calls for accountability and an end to dictatorship remain persistent.
