INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. – Travel North Tahoe Nevada (TNTNV) has appointed Evan Roa, Co-Owner of Tunnel Creek Cafe and Incline Bak’dto its Board of Directors. Roa brings more than two decades of culinary experience on the North Shore and a deep investment in the businesses and workforce that make Incline Village run.

Roa has a broad culinary background, with tenures at Martis Camp, Brewforia, and Big Water Grille before stepping into ownership. Tunnel Creek Café, a North Shore staple situated on the grounds of the former Ponderosa Ranch at the base of the Flume Trail and the Tahoe East Shore Path, has served hikers, mountain bikers, tourists and locals alike since 2012. Building a career as an employee before becoming an employer shapes how Roa thinks about advocating for the region’s small businesses and the workforce that sustains them.

“Food is how I’ve been able to give back to the community that welcomed me,” said Roa. “Cooking and feeding the people you love opens our community to one another, and I’m hoping to bring that same energy to the work TNTNV is doing to make sure all voices make it into the conversation.”

Beyond the kitchen and his businesses, Roa has been an active member of the community, partnering with TNTNV on Tahoe’s Twilight Theater, which brings free outdoor movie nights to Incline Village, and hosting weekly Saturday night music events and community pop-up dinners. That instinct, to use food and experience as connective community tissue, is why Roa was approached for the Board.

“Evan has spent decades serving the community and showing up for his neighbors,” said Andy Chapman, President and CEO of Travel North Tahoe Nevada. “He knows what it takes to run small businesses here, and he knows what his employees need and what his neighbors care about. That combination is exactly what this board calls for.”

Roa joins the board as an At-Large Director, representing the full range of the businesses and community voices that define North Lake Tahoe Nevada. To learn more about Travel North Tahoe Nevada’s Board of Directors and their efforts, click here.
