LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — Nevada’s state tourism agency has opened a new hub designed to connect visitors and residents alike with outdoor experiences.
The Travel Nevada Adventure Center opened its doors in Boulder City on Wednesday, at the corner of Boulder City Parkway and Nevada Way near Hemenway Park.
Described as a basecamp for outdoor recreation, the Adventure Center features local outfitters offering e-bike rentals, guided kayaking, Lake Mead cruises, air tours and other visitor services. Visitors can also get trip-planning resources and conservation information.
“The Travel Nevada Adventure Centers represent an important investment in Boulder City’s future as a gateway to Lake Mead and southern Nevada’s outdoor assets,” Jill Rowland-Lagan, CEO of the Boulder City Chamber of Commerce, said in a statement. “By welcoming visitors, supporting local businesses, and highlighting our unique regional character, this project strengthens both our economy and our community.”
Confirmed tenants include Canyon Riders LLC, Desert Adventures, Hoover Dam Rafting Adventures, HPP Armory, Lake Mead Cruises, Loop Trail Rentals and Papillon Airways.
Travel Nevada says Adventure Centers are backed by a $3.7 million Economic Development Administration award. The opening also marks the start of a three-year agreement with Outside Interactive, Inc.
The Boulder City Adventure Center is open 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily. Shuttle services are available from various Las Vegas locations. Visit adventure.travelnevada.com to learn more.
A second Travel Nevada Adventure Center is expected to open in Carson City early next year.
