As Yuri Quevedo Pupo, delegate of the Ministry of Tourism (Mintur) in Cienfuegos, informed Prensa Latina, the participants will also visit facilities of the Cuban Medical Services Marketing Company, SA.
Participants will also visit sites of tourist interest of the Camping Company, the Islazul and Gran Caribe chains, and the Tourism Real Estate, the latter with plots destined for the construction of hotels in the city.
The day before, the forum hosted seven business tables with 52 investment proposals in the tourism sector and the signing of 28 letters of intent. The event is organized by Mintur, the Foreign Trade Directorate and the Cienfuegos Chamber of Commerce.
The Forum seeks to attract foreign capital to a strategic sector for the Cuban economy, in a context of growing interest in diversifying destinations and expanding the offer of health and nature tourism in the south-central part of the country.
The Cuban tourism industry is going through a deep crisis, marked by the departure of some of the main international hotel chains that operated on the island, in a context of the tightening of the economic blockade imposed by the United States.
The holding of this Tourism Investment Forum makes it possible to publicize the Portfolio of Opportunities of the territory to potential foreign and national investors, in accordance with the 176 measures announced by the Cuban Government to encourage the economic and social transformation of the country.
