After declaring in conflict over 25 indirect dismissals en logistics companies partners of Conaprolethe Federation of Dairy Workers (FTIL) and the company held a tripartite meeting yesterday at the Ministry of Labor and Social Security (MTSS) in which they agreed on some common points, despite the fact that the negotiation continues. “It remains to analyze the alternative solution for the point that refers to the form of cancellation of the expenses of the workers who join the new company,” indicates the minutes signed by the parties and accessed by El País.

The affected workers were linked to the dairy’s partner logistics companies, Marez y Maracanawho were in charge of product distribution. In May of this year, the companies ended their relationship with Conaprole and although the union maintains that the cooperative is responsible for the situation, it defends that “it is not making layoffs.”

Instead of these two companies, a new one—MODE—would be in charge of dairy distribution. As the FTIL union leader had told El País, Robert Labrunathe new company proposed to the workers a salary reduction between 30% and 40% or “not going to work.” For this reason, the union interprets the situation as a series of indirect dismissals.

As noted by the FTIL in a statement prior to the meeting, the workers received a new proposal by the company. Among the common points that were achieved in the new negotiation stage, the parties agreed on the entry of personnel to work without a trial period, the salary proposed by MODE and the difference in salary raised by the FTIL paid by Conaprole for six months.

Prior to holding the meeting, the FTIL and the Association of Workers and Employees of Conaprole (AOEC) issued two independent statements in which they indicated that they would leave the union measures on hold until the meeting takes place. In that sense, the AOEC stated in the statement that the workers will evaluate the result of the negotiation to adopt new resolutions.

“Conaprole legally tenders suppliers of goods and services permanently in order to be competitive and sustainable,” the cooperative said in the statement and expressed that it has companies contracted for the replacement at points of sale and since March 2026 it began to talk with its suppliers since the contracts were about to expire,” the cooperative said in a statement last month when the conflict broke out.
