The stock market has started with a decline today on Wednesday. After the RBI monetary policy meeting, a decline is being seen in the market before the announcement of repo rate. Due to mixed signals from the global market and due to investor caution before the monetary policy decision of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Indian stock market benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty 50 opened with a decline on Wednesday.

The Sensex opened 102.43 points or 0.14% lower at 72,965.38, while the Nifty 50 opened 85.65 points or 0.38% lower at 22,690.45. The Bank Nifty index opened 170.25 points or 0.31% lower at 54,958.15. Further decline was seen after the market opened. Sensex fell more than 400 points.

On the other hand, a decline is also being seen in the rupee. In the international exchange market, the Indian rupee fell by 10 paise and was trading at 96.45 per dollar in early trade against the American currency dollar.
