CLAREMORE, Okla. — Rogers State University (RSU) and the University of Science & Arts of Oklahoma (USAO) have partnered together to create an Accelerated Master’s Program for computer science students working toward careers in cybersecurity.
Qualified USAO students majoring in computer science will be able to complete up to 12 graduate credit hours through RSU throughout their junior and senior years, with the ability to apply those credits to both their USAO bachelor’s degree and RSU’s Master of Science in Cybersecurity Policy, Governance, and Training.
“We are incredibly pleased to be partnering with Rogers State University to bring an accelerated program that includes building both a deep base of knowledge coupled with hands-on skill development from faculty at two institutions to our computer science students whose career goals are focused on cybersecurity,” shared Dr. Rachel Jones, the dean of USAO’s School of Science and Kinesiology. “This program allows us to continue serving our students in their academic and career goals, while also meeting increased pressure from our legislature to prepare individuals for the workforce more quickly.”
All USAO computer science students with a GPA of 3.0 or higher are eligible for conditional acceptance into RSU’s graduate program, allowing students to receive both a B.S. and an M.S. in less than five years.
According to RSU, the program saves students time and money while still allowing them to enter the workforce with the skills they need to succeed in their careers.
