PSP Investments’ senior vice-president and chief technology, data and operations officer David Ouellet is leaving the C$320 billion pension investment manager in January 2027 after nearly 15 years with the organization.
Ouellet announced his exit in a LinkedIn post, saying until his departure, he will support Alexandre Roy, the pension fund’s senior vice-president and chief risk officer, who is overseeing the technology, data and operations function on an interim basis. Ouellet will also focus on artificial intelligence in his capacity as PSP Investments’ chief AI strategy advisor for the remainder of his time with organization.
He joined PSP Investments in April 2012 as senior director of business information security and internal audit, according to his LinkedIn profile. In April 2016, he was promoted to vice-president and head of strategy and business planning, overseeing the pension investment manager’s five-year strategic planning and annual business planning processes. He became senior vice-president and chief technology and data officer in September 2019, taking responsibility for the organization’s technology and data capabilities. In June 2023, his mandate expanded to include investment operations.
Throughout his tenure, Ouellet oversaw PSP Investments’ migration to cloud-based systems, the adoption of an agile operating model for technology and data and the integration of AI into cybersecurity, investment research and operational processes.
Before joining PSP Investments, Ouellet spent nearly four years at KPMG, holding senior management positions in technology, finance and risk consulting in Canada and Hong Kong.
