GOSHEN – Two Orange County Information Technology Services employees have received 2026 Best of New York Awards recognizing innovation in data analytics and project management.
Elise Cuevas, an ITS systems analyst, received the Innovative Use of Data Analytics Award for developing a 911 Emergency Incident Dashboard. The interactive tool provides real-time data on call volumes, incident types, response times and geographic trends to help public-safety agencies deploy resources and make informed decisions.
John Meola, an ITS senior network support specialist, received the Excellence in Project Management Award for leading the County’s Enterprise Network Security Modernization Project.
The project upgraded network-security infrastructure serving more than 36 County departments and systems used by local law enforcement and other agencies. It strengthened cybersecurity through new firewalls and Zero Trust technologies while being completed on time and within budget.
The awards were presented during the New York Digital Government Summit in Albany.
“I am extremely proud of Elise, John, and our entire ITS team for earning this statewide recognition,” said Orange County Executive Steven Neuhaus. “Technology plays an increasingly important role in how we protect our residents and deliver County services. These awards demonstrate Orange County’s continued commitment to innovation, cybersecurity, and using technology to better serve our residents.”
