Hong Kong’s MTR Corporation has been ordered to submit a report to the government within a month following two separate service disruptions at Lam Tin station within 15 hours, with the railway operator apologising to passengers for the inconvenience caused.
Services on the Kwun Tong line were disrupted at about 8am on Wednesday when wires overheated in an electrical room on the station platform, prompting trains to skip the stop. Services resumed by 10am.
