Microdrama platform and studio aTwist is kicking off what they have dubbed their October “To Die For” lineup with a slate of new original series.
aTwist is launching four new series over the course of October, which feature stars like Mario Lopez and Paris Hiltonwhile “Modern Family” alum Jesse Tyler Ferguson is set to direct and produce another series, with Kevin Hart’s Hartbeat producing another.
Lopez’s show is titled “Honey, I Think Our House Is Haunted” and will launch on Oct. 8. That show not only features Lopez but also his wife Courtney Lopez and their children. Hilton will voice a killer doll in the horror comedy “Unboxing the Killer Doll.” Hilton is also a producer on the series, which debuts on Oct. 22. Meanwhile, Ferguson will direct and produce the musical comedy “Theater Kids vs. Zombies,” which premieres Oct. 15.

aTwist launched on Sept. 3 with a full slate of original microdramas across scripted, unscripted and animation as well as slate of curated library content. It is founded by entertainment industry veterans Jana Winograde, Susan Rovner, and Lloyd Braun.

–HONEY, I THINK OUR HOUSE IS HAUNTED — Thursday, October 8
STARRING: Mario Lopez, Courtney Lopez, and family
LOGLINE: After inheriting his eccentric grandmother’s “haunted” house, Milo Lopez (Mario Lopez) moves his reluctant family in for the summer, only for eerie disturbances to convince them she may have been right all along. As tensions rise and secrets unravel, they band together to uncover the truth behind the haunting.

LOGLINE: When zombies attack their high school, a group of scrappy theater kids realizes that their only hope for survival is to put on the greatest musical of their lives. With humanity hanging in the balance, the students must sing, dance and fight their way through the apocalypse — because for the zombies to go, they must put on a show.

LOGLINE: When homeschooled geek Sissy tries to get in with the cool kids by being an “unboxer,” the mean girls send her a creepy doll (voiced by Paris Hilton). She loves it and they make even more fun of her, but the doll secretly begins killing them off and possessing her to kill the rest once she suspects something is wrong. The girl must find a way to defeat the doll and stop her, once and for all.
