Leapmotor’s Zaragoza output gives it a European manufacturing base, though volumes and pricing will decide how far it can go
Leapmotor has begun producing the B10 at its first European plant, in Zaragoza, Spain, and used the Paris Motor Show to give its B03 urban hatchback a European premiere. Local output, set up with Stellantis, anchors an expansion push that also put the D19 flagship SUV on show.
The Zaragoza site will build cars specifically for European buyers, giving Leapmotor a local-for-local footprint two years after its debut on the continent at the same show. Output volumes and investment figures were not disclosed.
The B03 sits on the latest Compact Electric Platform, with up to 145kW and a claimed range of up to 390km. Charging from 10% to 80% takes 21 minutes, and the cabin offers 888mm of rear legroom, a 14.6-inch touchscreen and Leap OS 4.0 Plus software with over-the-air updates.
Leapmotor is aiming the hatchback at the crowded B-segment with equipment less common in the class, such as a heated steering wheel and seats, plus 21 driver assistance systems. No price was given, so its standing against established rivals remains unclear.
The D19, a six- or seven-seat SUV using Super REEV range-extender technology and a cell-to-chassis battery layout, signals a push into pricier segments. Leapmotor customers also gain access to Stellantis’ Free2move Charge network, which spans over one million public chargers in Europe.
