We have been monitoring power cuts over the past few hours, as Isaias continues to cause disruption.
The total number of outages in the three worst-hit states is moving quickly, but has dropped to about 800,000 based on poweroutage.com reports. It was earlier at more than 850,000.
Florida
Florida, where the hurricane made landfall yesterday, currently has over 438,000 customers without power, according to the site.
Governor Ron DeSantis said earlier that more than 80% were without power in some counties in the state. Workers carrying out repairs began work last night, he added.
Alabama
More than 251,000 are without power in Alabama, according to the same monitoring site.
Alabama Power, which serves 1.6 million customers, says heavy rain and strong winds have created “challenging conditions for restoration”.
Georgia
Poweroutage.com says just over 91,000 customers are without power in Georgia.
Georgia Power, which serves 2.8 million customers, says crews are “out where it is safe working to assess damage and restore power”.
North Carolina
Despite Isaias not directly passing through the state, there are now more than 12,400 households without power, poweroutage.com states.
