Heat premiered in theaters on Dec. 15, 1995. It was a massive box-office success, grossing $187.4 million on a $60 million budget. The crime drama received universal acclaim from critics and audiences alike.
Famed film critic Roger Ebert gave it a glowing three and a half starspraising Mann’s script for its “psychological insight into the symbiotic relationship between police and criminals, and the fractured intimacy between the male and female characters.” The movie boasts an 84% on the Rotten Tomatoes Tomatometer and 94% on the Popcornmeter.
