Eastern Michigan University earns recognition in U.S. News & World Report’s 2027 Best Colleges rankings

YPSILANTI — Eastern Michigan University has been recognized in U.S. News & World Report’s 2027 Best Colleges rankings, ranking No. 84 (tie) among 176 Regional Universities, along with rankings of No. 25 (tie) among Top Public Schools and No. 20 among Best Value Schools for In-State Students. YPSILANTI — Eastern Michigan University has been recognized in U.S. News & World Report’s 2027 Best Colleges rankings, ranking No. 84 (tie) among 176 Regional Universities, along with rankings of No. 25 (tie) among Top Public Schools and No. 20 among Best Value Schools for In-State Students.

The 2027 U.S. News Best Colleges rankings evaluate more than 1,700 colleges and universities nationwide, using up to 17 measures related to academic quality and student outcomes. Factors include graduation rates, faculty resources, financial resources and post-graduation earnings.

“As a double Eagle, I can genuinely say that I love EMU,” said Nautica Marshall, EMU alum, in comments published by U.S. News & World Report. “I began my journey as a freshman in 2015, and over the years, Eastern has truly become a second home to me. EMU has given me the opportunity to connect with people from different states, countries, cultures, perspectives and backgrounds, while learning from thought-provoking faculty and caring staff.”

Engineering programs ranked nationally
Eastern’s undergraduate engineering programs ranked No. 71 (tie) nationally. The programs include mechanical engineering, electrical and computer engineeringand civil engineering.

EMU’s engineering programs emphasize hands-on learning, real-world faculty expertise and opportunities for students to gain professional experience through internships and industry partnerships throughout Southeast Michigan.

Nursing program earns national recognition
Eastern’s undergraduate nursing program ranked No. 195 (tie) nationally. Since its founding in 1971, EMU’s School of Nursing has graduated more than 5,000 students who have gone on to serve Michigan communities and healthcare organizations throughout the region and beyond.
