In view of the CJP protests to be held in Delhi on October 10, the administration has imposed strict restrictions. Due to the protests at Jantar Mantar, the entire central Delhi including Connaught Place, Mandi House, Janpath has turned into a cantonment due to the deployment of police and paramilitary forces. The movement of customers in Connaught Place, which is often bustling with activity, has reduced compared to earlier. At the same time, the number of customers is expected to reduce to a great extent on weekends. The reason is that Delhi Metro, the most important means of public transport, is likely to be disrupted. The gates of 57 metro stations will remain closed. In such a situation, businessmen have expressed fear of loss worth crores.
Movements should be shifted from Jantar Mantar to somewhere else
There is a big reason behind this concern of businessmen. Last time when CJP protested, business organizations had said that 50 percent of the business would be affected within 4 days. This figure of loss was estimated between Rs 200 to 400 crores. Business organizations consider administrative restrictions amid protests at Jantar Mantar as the main reason for this. He believes that if the protest site had been somewhere else, business would not have been affected to this extent. New Delhi Traders Association (NDTA) is now preparing to raise the demand to shift the protest site of Jantar Mantar to another place.

Last time also there was a loss of crores
Last time, traders in Connaught Place, Janpath and Bengali Market had feared a loss of around Rs 200-400 crore in four days. This was the estimate of the businessmen. NDTA General Secretary Vikram Badhwar had then said that due to security concerns, restrictions imposed by Delhi Police lead to silence in the entire Connaught Place. It will take a lot of time for businessmen to recover from this loss.
According to businessmen, the business of hotels, restaurants and cafes was badly affected due to reduced footfall. Some businessmen had even said that there would be up to 80% decline in sales.
