Football – Belmont blew past Middlesex League rival Lexington, 35-0 on Friday, Oct. 2, for the Marauders’ biggest win in almost three years. Sophomore quarterback Ronan Kelleher led the way with four touchdown passes to four different receivers. Jimbo Kenneally added a five-yard touchdown run, and Sam Jones converted all five extra points. The Marauders now stand at 2-2, ahead of their Oct. 9 clash with Arlington.

Boys Cross Country — The No. 18 Marauders shocked No. 8 Reading on Tuesday, Sept. 29, taking the top three spots in the 25-30 win at Rock Meadow. Junior Noah Gieger, the state’s fourth-ranked runner, led the way, finishing the three-mile course in 15:49. He was followed by sophomore Ishaan Kanagaraj and junior Will Olmstead. The trio has powered the undefeated Marauders to their highest Boston Globe ranking in two years.

Girls Cross Country – The girls cross country team won a competitive 23-33 meet over Reading at Rock Meadow on Tuesday, Sept. 29. This was the girls’ Morgan’s Message Dedication meet to raise awareness of student-athlete mental health issues. Junior Reece Bundy placed first, and senior Daphne Lee finished third. The team had a meet Oct. 6 against Arlington.

Field Hockey – The No. 5-ranked Marauders are now 8-0-1 after a clean 4-0 win at Lexington on Friday, Oct. 2, backed by a strong performance by Belmont’s defense and junior goalie Zoe Bruce. Sophomores Amelia Long and Kate Townsend, along with freshman Reagan Moulis, led Belmont’s offense. The Marauders were scheduled to face Stoneham at home on Oct. 6 before hitting the road to play No. 11 Waltham on Oct. 9.

Girls Swim and Dive – In a competitive, back-and-forth meet, the Marauders continued a dominant start to their season, beating Winchester 98-85 at home and improving to 3-0. Girls diving had several standout performances, with sophomore Maggie Han and freshman Elyse Hendriks qualifying for states, with scores of 374.75 and 335.25. Belmont swam against Reading at home on Wednesday, Oct. 7.

Girls Volleyball – The 14th-ranked Marauders are 8-2 after finishing 3-0 on the week. They started out the week on a high note with a commanding 3-0 sweep over Wilmington on Monday, Sept. 28. They followed up with a gritty 3-2 win at home against Wayland on Wednesday, Sept. 30, during the team’s Morgan’s Message Dedication game. They capped off their week with a 3-2 win against Lexington. The team faced Stoneham at home on Tuesday, Oct. 6, followed by Concord-Carlisle on Friday, Oct. 9.

Girls Soccer – The No. 4 girls soccer team had a packed schedule this week, winning twice, before suffering its first loss of the season to second-ranked Bishop Feehan. They started the week off with a notable 4-0 win over Burlington on Tuesday, Sept. 29, led by a hat trick from Clara Sciandra and an additional goal from Cassie Greiner. The Marauders followed with a close 1-0 win at Woburn on Thursday, Oct. 1, when Zoe Marion scored the game’s only goal off a corner kick. The team closed the week with a tough 1-0 loss to No. 2 Bishop Feehan. The Marauders traveled to play Wilmington on Monday, Oct. 5, and Lexington on Wednesday, Oct. 7.

Boys Soccer – The Marauders steamrolled Burlington, 5-1, on Sept. 29, behind a hat trick from junior Robert Hoerle. Freshman John Liu and sophomore Nimit Bhatta each scored their first goals for the team in the win. Belmont followed up with a dominant 4-0 win against Woburn on Oct. 1, with another goal from Hoerle and goals from seniors Jaden Yan, Diego Asadoorian, and Shayan Rostamnezhad. Belmont suffered its first loss of the season on Oct. 3, falling 2-0 to top-ranked Concord-Carlisle, leaving the Marauders with a record of 7-1-2.
