UFBU had announced a three-day strike from Monday to September 30. This strike was to take place at the time of half-yearly closing of banks. In the meeting held between IBA and UFBU on Sunday, assurance was given for further talks on many demands of the unions.
High-level committee will be formed to demand 5 days working of bank employees
Both sides have agreed to immediately form a high-level committee to consider the major demands of the bank employees. This committee will consider all types of options on the issue of declaring holiday on the remaining Saturdays also.
Bank unions have been demanding five days work a week and two days off for a long time. They want work to be done from Monday to Friday and rest on Saturday and Sunday. Now the joint committee of IBA and UFBU will discuss this issue. The committee will talk to all concerned parties and try to find a solution keeping in mind the interest of the customers.
There will also be talks on PLI scheme
Discussion will begin with IBA regarding changes in PLI scheme. A proposal will be prepared to put the objections and suggestions of the unions before the government. Apart from this, both the parties will soon discuss the remaining pending issues recorded in the minutes of the meeting of March 8, 2024.
Will banks be open or closed today?
After the bank strike was averted, the tension of the customers has ended. Banks will remain open today i.e. Monday, 28th September. That means today everyone can go to government and private banks and get their work done comfortably.
