The World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) is pleased to welcome the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) as a Destination Partner, further strengthening collaboration with one of the Gulf’s most dynamic destinations, following the Kingdom’s participation in WTTC’s 26th Global Summit in Valletta, Malta.
As the authority responsible for developing and promoting tourism and exhibitions in the Kingdom of Bahrain, BTEA plays a central role in positioning the country as a leading destination for leisure, business events and exhibitions. Working closely with government entities, the private sector and international partners, BTEA is focused on expanding the Kingdom’s tourism offering, enhancing the quality of the visitor experience and strengthening Bahrain’s competitiveness on the international stage.
Bahrain’s appeal is rooted in more than 5,000 years of history, from the ancient Dilmun civilisation to its three UNESCO World Heritage Sites, combined with renowned Gulf hospitality, a vibrant cultural scene, and world-class events and exhibition venues. Joining WTTC opens broader opportunities for Bahrain to engage directly with global industry leaders, decision-makers and international institutions, to draw on the Council’s data, research and expertise, and to be represented in WTTC’s specialised initiatives and programmes.
Gloria Guevara, WTTC President & CEO, said: “We are delighted to welcome the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority to the World Travel & Tourism Council. It was a pleasure to have Her Excellency Minister Al Sairafi and the Bahraini delegation with us at our Global Summit in Valletta. Bahrain combines a remarkable heritage with a growing reputation for world-class events, exhibitions and hospitality, and its commitment to public-private collaboration is exactly what our sector needs. We look forward to working closely together to support Bahrain’s sustainable tourism growth and to strengthen its position on the global tourism map.”
Her Excellency Fatima bint Jaffar Al Sairafi, Minister of Tourism and Chairperson of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority, said: “The Kingdom of Bahrain’s membership of the World Travel and Tourism Council marks a step towards strengthening our presence within the global travel and tourism industry. It opens broader opportunities to engage with industry leaders, decision-makers and international institutions, and to draw on global expertise, data and practices to support the development of the tourism sector and enhance Bahrain’s competitiveness as a tourism destination.”
