American Airlines will resume nonstop flights between Seattle and New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport in April, restoring the route after a nearly eight-year hiatus, according to travel news website Traveling for Miles.
Beginning April 6, the airline plans to offer two daily round-trip flights between Seattle-Tacoma International Airport and JFK. The service will operate year-round, according to the article, giving travelers additional options for trips between the Pacific Northwest and the New York City area.
The flights will use Airbus A321neo aircraft with First Class and Main Cabin seating, including Main Cabin Extra seats with additional legroom. The planes will not offer lie-flat First Class seats or a Premium Economy cabin, and they will not have seatback entertainment screens. All seats will have access to USB-A ports and standard power outlets, however.
American previously operated the Seattle-JFK route before discontinuing service in 2019. In 2020, the airline renewed its partnership with Alaska Airlines, which has a major hub at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.
