Acura has told its US dealers it will add three SUVs, starting with an adventure-focused model in early 2028, as it moves into segments where it does not yet compete. A fourth-generation RDX Hybrid, also due in 2028, and an eight-passenger SUV, the brand’s largest yet, complete the trio.

The RDX will be the first Acura with the company’s two-motor hybrid system. Still in development, the eight-seater will sit above the seven-passenger MDX and target rising demand for family vehicles at the premium end of the market.

A V6 hybrid powertrain for D-segment models is also under development, promising sportier performance and greater towing capacity. Hybrid powertrains feature in two of the four announcements, and the ADX and Integra stay as the entry points that draw new buyers.

Recent sales give the plan some footing. Acura volumes rose 4.4% year on year in the first nine months of 2026, the MDX grew by more than 25%, and the ADX and Integra top their segments for retail sales, with all three updated for the 2027 model year.

American Honda President and Chief Executive Eiji Fujimura said the brand would also bring products to market faster. In a statement, Gary Robinson, Vice President of Auto Strategy at American Honda, said: “Acura is entering the most popular segments in the market while maintaining a leading position in gateway segments with Integra and ADX, to solidify a strong and sustainable future.”
