No “serious” RV-er ever bought a travel trailer because it was adorable to look at, but the Coastal Cruiser could be the exception. The biggest model from Goldy Caravans is deliciously retro but, as the headline says, perfectly adapted to the demands and expectations of the modern traveler.

Goldie Caravans is a young company from Australia, offering a range of caravans (travel trailers) inspired by the goldies of the 1960s in design and interiors, but built to last a lifetime, specced with modern convenience, and highly personalizable. These Goldy towables are beautiful to look at and a pleasure to use, according to the manufacturer and their happy customers.

The Coastal Cruiser is the spacious “Traveler” of the bunch: the biggest entry in the series, imagined either as a family-friendly alternative or a complete couple’s solution that lives like a retro-modern home on wheels. We’re looking today at a unit that falls in the latter category, because it’s the most impressive of the two.

The Coastal Cruiser rides on a tandem axle and is 19 feet (5.88 meters) long in the body, with an overall length of 22.1 feet (6.75 meters). Construction-wise, it’s not dissimilar to its smaller siblings, so you get a DuraGal steel chassis with leaf spring suspension, a molded composite fiberglass body with high-density thermal insulation, and classic ’60s-inspired panoramic windows that open awning-style.

Like the caravans of the ’60s, the Coastal Cruiser is all about curves and rounded edges inside and out, but it’s built to last you a lifetime, handle all weather conditions, and be comparatively lightweight for the amount of space it offers.

Every caravan in the catalog can be personalized, from the exterior paintjob to the matching interior theme, so you can find the unit you best vibe with. The unit shown in the video below and in the photos in the gallery is a two-tone burned/sunset orange with an orange flowery interior. It’s delicious, and that’s not an exaggeration.

Goldy offers two variants fro the Coastal Cruiser, each customizable on request. There’s the Base Option that comes with sleeping for four (or six as an option, if you add bunk beds) and a wet bathroom, and there’s the Ensuite Option. This one offers you the possibility to choose between having a bathroom onboard, an external bathroom, or no bathroom at all.

The unit below has an onboard ensuite and is offered with sleeping for four by means of a rear queen bed in a north-to-south disposition and a convertible L-shaped dinette. It also features a layout you’re not likely to find with any other caravan maker, whether in Australia or elsewhere, with a front bathroom that’s actually made up of two different rooms.

That means that the bathroom takes up a lot of the available footprint. It’s a full-width one, with an enclosed spa-like shower and a separate space for an L-shaped vanity and a full toilet, with finishes you’d rather expect in a boutique-style Airbnb. Brass fittings, a raised porcelain bowl by the large windows, and a large picture wall in the shower add personality and quite a lot of oomph to this space, giving it spa-like vibes.

The dinette is on the campside, right by the door but separated from the walkway by an accent wall/slatted partition. The contrast between this partition, the hanging rustic light fixture, the rich fabrics of the upholstery, and the wooden table against the sterile background of the sidewalls and ceiling is very unexpected – and very welcome.

Across the way is the galley kitchen, with composite cabinetry and a large countertop surface. The unit shown has a removable cooktop, as seems to be the standard with Goldy, and an optional retro fridge under the counter. The cabinetry and the sink come with matching brass hardware, which is also present on the large wardrobe next to it.

At the rear is the beda full queen with walkaround space and his-and-hers nightstands. A smart TV hangs off the wall in the display unit, but it, too, is part of the optional equipment.

Described as “the epitome of luxury and comfort on wheels” and capable of offering “ample room for relaxation, dining, and sleep,” the Coastal Cruiser comes with a pair of 65-liter water tanks in standard spec and 12V smart battery management system for the LED lights. The trailer comes in at 1,400 kg (3,086 lbs) empty, with a maximum permissible weight of 2,000 kg (4,409 lbs).

Because Goldy wants to offer customers only they features they want on their trailers and none of those they don’t need, the option list includes stuff like a matching retro awning, a ducted reverse-cycle AC unit, a solar array, the smart TV, the fridge, or upgraded Cruisemaster CRS2 semi-off-road suspension, and even a fully offgrid package with bigger holding tanks.

Prices will vary depending on these options, but the Coastal Cruiser starts at AUD99,950, which is approximately US$69,800 at the current exchange rate. The conversion is for a reason because, as of the summer of 2026, Goldy Caravans secured their first dealer in the U.S. They also ship internationally, in case just looking at it isn’t doing it for you and you’d consider buying one.
