Volkswagen Group France has selected Global PRE and its network of authorised ELV centres to develop a structured supply of reused automotive parts. The partnership will give repairers access to a shared digital platform, improving parts availability, reducing repair costs and supporting Volkswagen’s circular economy and extended producer responsibility commitments.
Volkswagen Group France announces the selection of Global PRE as its partner to deploy a structured offering of recycled parts to its network of authorized repairers. Revealed on the occasion of Global PRE’s 15th anniversary, this partnership marks a new phase in Volkswagen Group France’s strategy dedicated to recycled parts and aims to address the economic, environmental, and regulatory challenges facing the automotive industry.
A dedicated platform to simplify access to recycled parts
At the heart of the partnership, a digital platform branded with Volkswagen Group France’s colors will allow professionals to more easily search for and order used automotive parts eligible for reuse and sourced from a shared inventory of state-approved end-of-life vehicle (ELV) centers. Designed as a single point of entry, it will facilitate sourcing, comparison of offers, and order tracking, while providing a clear and user-friendly process tailored to the operational needs of workshops.
Thanks to Global PRE’s expertise and its network of 673 end-of-life vehicle (ELV) centers, Volkswagen Group France aims to offer its repairers a broad, clear, and reliable range of parts. Parts eligible for reuse, according to regulations, and ELV centers meeting the Group’s criteria will be identified under the manufacturer’s “Charteco Parts” label. This label, which will be certified, is designed to enhance their visibility and build trust among both professionals and customers.
This new solution pursues three objectives: to improve the availability of parts for repairs in light of the legal obligations imposed on repairers, to offer a cost-effective alternative to new parts, and to help reduce the environmental impact associated with car repairs. It will also contribute to extending the lifespan of vehicles, particularly older ones, and to supporting the after-sales activity of the network.
A partnership dedicated to reuse
The choice of Global PRE reflects Volkswagen Group France’s commitment to offering its network concrete and easy-to-implement solutions. It reinforces a strategy that combines reuse, repair, and remanufacturing to expand the options available to customers throughout their vehicle’s lifecycle.
By progressively aggregating different sources of recycled parts, the platform aims to support the growth of this activity and better connect partner ELV (End-of-Life Vehicle) centers to the needs of the repair network. This approach is in line with the obligations relating to extended producer responsibility for end-of-life vehicles.
Marc MEURER – Chairman of the Board of Directors of Volkswagen Group France, said:
“This partnership with Global PRE allows us to integrate recycled parts into our network of authorized repairers. By giving our networks easy access to a structured range of recycled parts, we are providing a concrete response to our customers’ expectations, while strengthening the competitiveness and environmental commitment of our after-sales business.”
Caroline Michalik – Managing Director of Global PRE, said:
“Celebrating Global PRE’s 15th anniversary by announcing this partnership with Volkswagen Group France sends a strong signal to the entire industry. It highlights the expertise of French ELV (End-of-Life Vehicle) centers and our collective ability to provide professionals with a range of recycled parts processed according to rigorous and certified procedures, and a traceable and immediately accessible stock. Choosing to promote recycled parts means addressing economic challenges (extending the lifespan of a vehicle while preserving purchasing power), environmental challenges (reducing the environmental impact of automotive repair), and societal challenges (preserving local jobs).”
