The band’s members include Ross McNae, Barry McKenna, Craig Kneale and Sam McTrusty, who lives with his family in Canada.
In a statement, Twin Atlantic said they arrived at a “point of reflection” while making the album.
“Making this record has been one of the band’s greatest gifts as it brought us all back into recording studios together again after many years apart,” they said.
“However, diving into some of the subject matter on this album and self-producing it with the intense passion that we approached it with has taken its toll on us in a personal way that we haven’t experienced before.
“Rather than ignoring the signals here, we are making the very difficult decision to take some time to pause and therefore cancelling our upcoming UK tour.”
